Glyphosate

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in the chemical Roundup that we use across the nation. We are now one of the few countries that has kept this chemical legal (for now) and that is because we like to see our farms as the good guys. Now farmers certainly aren’t the bad guys, but the practices that we’ve used are and we’ve been doing them for so long that is very hard to break the cycle currently. Most farmers are stuck in their ways and difficult to teach new techniques. Now back to glyphosate, round up destroys ecosystems, hurts our soil biology and is even found in trace amounts in our drinking water. Again, this is not the farmers fault, this is an industry blinding us and lying to us for a profit which often happens in this age. We aren’t the bad guys but we do need to take responsibility and educate ourselves on our practices and what we can do to change the course of climate change. I will certainly do that on my farm and I hope many others follow.
