Excuses are the nails that build the house of failure

I know, long title. Seems like the best song on my favorite punk album but it’s good advice still. I was never the best basketball player in middle school. What I lacked was confidence but I did have a good coach who would often say this lesson to us. I never really thought about it too hard then, I’m sure most kids on the team would say the same thing but in my old age, now 26, (good joke, right?) I think about this phrase often. I never make an excuse now, I do the work that needs to be done when it needs to be done without question and I believe it is one of the main reasons I have made it this far. Excuses never got me anywhere but hard work and dedication to myself have seen me through any obstacle and I wish the same for you. I’ll keep this entry short but keep this phrase in the back of your mind the next time you’re pursuing your dream. Dreams don’t wait for no one and neither does precious time.
